Guild information
Villains by Necessity, VBN för short, is a semi-hardcore raid guild.
Our goals for Cataclysm is to:
- kill all ten-man bosses
- kill all ten-man hardmodes
- get all raid achivements
This means we demand a lot of all our raiders, and even more from the members that want to be core raiders.
We want our raid members to take raiding seriously. More about this under "Raiding information".
That said we also want to say that you can join our guild at any level and you can join us and not take part in any raids, non-raiding social members are very welcome :)
Rules:
To make this a guild that everyone can enjoy and feel respected in we have some rules.
These rules are essential to the guild and they are the foundation of the whole guild. If you are to join this guild make sure you do it mainly becuse you like the rules and what the rules do for the "feeling" and atmosphere of the guild, don't join based on "I want to raid" or "I want epics now".
If you feel you can't respect the rules we really don't want you to join. There is no point in joining and trying to change the rules or thinking that we will let you get away with breaking them. It's a waste of your and our time.
The rules can be found at the rules page.
How to join VBN:
To join us you need to make an application.
Go to our forum and follow what the post "How to apply to VBN" tells you.
If we find out you apply to more than one guild at a time we will decline you at once.
Same goes if we accept you and then find out that you applied for many guilds at once - we will kick you at once.
Understand this:
If you apply as a Raider or Core-raider your gear should be up to the standard needed to join our raids.
This means it need to gear at the level needed to do the instance we do, it needs to be enchanted with the best gems and enchants for your class/spec.
Your spec and glyphs needs to be the best you can have and you should know how to play ypur class in a raid setting.
If you are uncertain about all this you should apply as a social member and then you can be in the guild and work on the gear and ask for Raider/Core-raider rank later when you are ready.
Trial time:
When you join the guild you will be mared as Trial.
After four weeks the officers will evaluate you and decide if your are welcome to stay in the guild or if you need to leave.
What will they look at? We will focus more on how you are as a person than at what gear you have or how skilled you are at the game. We rather have a friendly funny bad geared member than a well geared idiot, as we can help anyone to get good gear - but so far we can't help people get a good personality.
Some pointers on how to pass the trial weeks:
1. Read all info on the website (Guild rules, guild info, FAQ, raiding with vbn and so on)
2. No really, read ALL info on the website
3. Don't break the rules
4. Be nice and polite in the guild chat - and all other chat channels in the game
5. Don't try to get a raid spot without applying in the forums - that just makes you look bad
6. Don't ask about stuff that you shall already know if you have read all info you should have read on the website
7. Never ever talk about the Zhevras, they are up to something. Rember this, it is important.
8. Finally - read all info on the website
The website and forums:
All information about the guild and how it works, including raid schedule, what you need to raid with us and info about the guildbank, can be found on the website. We expect you to search for this information yourself, and not ask about it in guildchat or in wispers. Of course, if you have looked everywhere and still can't find it, we can give you pointers.
Raid times:
Thursday, Friday and Tuesday, 20:00 - 23:00 with the possibilty to be extended to 23:30
